About the Watty Awards
The Watty Awards is Wattpad’s longest-running annual event that seeks out, rewards, and uplifts the storytellers who choose to share their stories on Wattpad every year.

Each year, the Wattys celebrate the most creative, imaginative, and dedicated storytellers on Wattpad. This year, we’re calling on writers to submit Completed stories in English, Spanish, Filipino, and Portuguese. It’s time to wrap up those masterpieces, step into the spotlight, and share your work with the world.

Eligibility
If your story qualifies, a banner appears on its Story Details page during submissions. Submit your story to remove the banner.
Updates may take up to 24 hours to show.
You Must:
  • Be 13+ years old (under 18 need guardian permission). Add your birthdate on Wattpad.
  • Own all rights to your story. No plagiarized, fanfiction, AI-generated, or translated works.
Your stories
must be:
  • Posted on or after January 1, 2023
  • Marked “Complete” at submission
  • Have a word count of:
    • English: 50,000+ words
    • Filipino, Spanish, Portuguese: 40,000+ words

  • Standalone (sequels welcome if they can be read on their own)

  • Not previously submitted as a Complete story

  • Not Ongoing or a Wattpad Original (unless now Complete and not submitted before)
Submission rules:
  • Fill out submission form fully and accurately—you will be unable to modify after submitting

  • You may submit multiple stories, but only one can win

  • Genres accepted: Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Historical, Horror, Mystery/Thriller, Paranormal, Romance, Sci-Fi

  • Languages accepted: English, Filipino, Spanish, Portuguese

Shortlist

Announced around September 18, 2025. All shortlisted stories receive:

  • A profile banner to show off your achievement

  • Promotion on the Wattys profile and featuring opportunities across Wattpad

  • An exclusive graphic for your story cover

Winners

From the shortlist, about 10 winners per language will be chosen. That’s around 40 winners total across all languages. Winners receive:

  • A winners social media kit

  • Promotion on the Wattys profile

  • Featuring opportunities across Wattpad


  • An exclusive graphic for your story cover


  • 1,000 Bonus Coins


  • Priority consideration by Wattpad WEBTOON Studios for entertainment and publishing partners


  • Recognition on the Wattys website 

Honorable Mention (NEW for 2025!)
Judges may award this to notable non-winning stories. Honorable mentions get:

  • Promotion on the Wattys profile


  • Featuring opportunities across Wattpad

Grand prize

One grand prize winner per language, chosen from the winners pool. These stories are the best of the best. Grand prize winners receive a USD $5,000 cash prize.
